Bringing The Railroad back to Johannesburg

Backstory

In 2014 Nick Buffalo purchased a home in the Mojave desert. Historically the home had been the train depot during the turn of the century. Joburg was the end of the line bringing miners into town from all over the country. Nick had discussed the idea of returning the rails to the depot. Rail comes in 40-foot sections due to the maximum length of the rolling stock in which they are transported. We found a museum that donated 80 feet of track and ties. The rail was mainline and weighted 155 pounds per yard! Ballast was provided unbeknownst by a large freight railroad company which I will not mention:)
